The Degollado Theater opened its doors to the public the night of Thursday 13 of September of 1866 with the opera Lucia de Lammermoor, of Gaetano Donizetti, interpreted by the soprano Ángela Peralta. The building has changed its appearance throughout many years, and today shines a beautiful porch that had been left unfinished during his first inauguration.
This theater among other functions, is the seat of the Orchestra Philharmonic of Jalisco and an habitual scene of recitals, concerts, as well as spectacles of contemporary classic dance.
